At Cederquist Medical Wellness Center we see dozen of patients every day and most of them are diagnosed as diabetic or pre-diabetic. Dr Cederquist designed the Bistro M.D. program with her diabetic patients in mind, and the program fits their needs perfectly. The program focuses on lean protein, complex carbohydrates, and low fat. Yes, it is. The lean protein is what is going to keep you feeling full and maintain your blood sugars. We avoid any of the simple sugars like white bread, potatoes, and pasta. These are the sugars that spike your blood sugar then drop rapidly and cause you to be hungry again shortly after eating.  Is the plan Low Carb? This is lower carb but not equivalent to the Atkins diet. It is also low glycemic.

DAY 1 Fluffy 2 egg Omelet served with Canadian style bacon and delicious Fuji apples. Morning Snacks: Cran-Grape Shake- Fill it, Shake it, Drink it. Cranberry and grape flavors make this shake a tasty, grab-and-go snack!

Lunch: Thai Curry Chicken - Tender chicken chunks in a Thai curry sauce served with white rice and an exotic vegetable blend.

DAY 2 Breakfast: A delicious blend of raspberries in a no sugar added light and flaky pastry crust. A wonderful start to your day! Morning Snacks: Chocolate mini crisps- a great tasting protein morsel that lets you nibble your hunger away!

Lunch: Chicken Italiano- Simple and Savory! Our juicy, marinated, grilled chicken breast topped with a flavorful, fresh tomato putanesca sauce, accompanied by a lentil and chick pea salad and colorful medley of fresh-steamed summer vegetables.

Afternoon Snacks: Lemon Garlic protein chips


Dinner: Grilled Teriyaki Salmon – Grilled fillet of Atlantic salmon accented with a Teriyaki sauce and served with French green beans and sugar snap peas & carrots.

       
DAY 3 Breakfast: Add a slice of Canadian bacon and a low fat, low cholesterol egg patty to our high protein, low carbohydrate sesame bagel to create a breakfast bagel sandwich that is sure to satisfy your hunger!  Morning Snacks: Chocolate shake – This velvety chocolate drink is a great way to tantalize the palate and a perfect way to quench your thirst!

Lunch: Minestrone Soup made with pancetta (Italian uncured bacon, carrots, onion, celery, and green beans.)

Afternoon Snacks: This soy protein snack is a great blend of chili and lime flavors

Dinner: Sirloin Steak in a Morel Sauce Served with a Blend of Broccoli and Cauliflower and a Side of Flame Roasted Corn.

       
DAY 4 Breakfast: Oatmeal that has the enjoyable flavor of apples sprinkled with cinnamon. Morning Snacks: Our high protein Fudge Graham Crisp N' Crunch Bar is a great snack filled with the combined flavors of graham crackers and fudge. Great for a grab and go snack!

Lunch: Blackened Tilapia - Tilapia filet topped with Cajun blackened spices accompanied with yellow & green beans and baby carrots.
